1 What is an organization?

group with a purpose or shared goals. at least an informal contract. with hierarchy, levels of decisions, activities of group, low management, high managnement (strategy) (some fuzziness in levels). could be an individual.

2 What is a system?

collection of processes or resources aimed at creating a solution, with inputs and outputs. processes something into something else

3 Example uses of information by organizations?

selling like items next to other items based on buying habits
research on audiences of media for selling adverts
personnel selection either for a task or for an organization joining or recruitment
suspect profiling in law enforcement \
census - for vote allocation, for demographics

mechanism(s) to gather, analyze and/or store information for an organization
